8 Bad Behaviors You Can’t Blame On Being An Introvert
One trait doesn’t need to hold you back
We’re introverts — we need time alone to recharge; we enjoy our inner life. That’s it. It’s one trait in many that make up our personality and our character. It’s a trait we talk about a lot, and because of that we tend to give it more scope than it deserves. We blame a lot of our behavior on being introverted. We use it as an excuse.
As an introvert myself, I’ve used it many times: “Is it okay if I give your baby shower a miss? I’m an introvert. I don’t like crowds.” “You do the presentation. I find it hard to speak in front of people — I’m an introvert, you know.”
Any time you use one trait to fully define you and your actions you limit yourself. The reality is, you’re complex, many layered, and have the potential for change and growth. You have many traits, quirks, strengths, and inner resources. Don’t let one aspect of your personality hold you back.
