As an ex-nice girl I’m learning there is a big difference between nice and kind. The best partners are the ones who are kind to us and who also have good boundaries (because that’s them being kind to themselves and is healthy).

Nice can be a sign of low self-worth or people pleasing. I’m learning to ditch “nice” and value kind, patient, self-controlled, honest, respectful, and supportive instead. These qualities make for much stronger relationships.
