Hi Alecia, I was a child of divorce and have now been a solo mom for two years. I, like you, really struggled with the idea of not being with my girls every day. I homeschool them so I was used to being with them all the time. Now they are at their dads half the week. It was hard initially but now it’s actually great. They have two homes where they feel loved and safe. 4 parents they adore (two step parents) and who love them. After two years they (and I) settled into it and it just works. Today is Mother’s Day and they are at their dads. I thought I’d be sad but I’m not. I know I’ll see them tomorrow. I know I’m loved and still their mom. It took work but two healed seperate families can be much better than one together broken one.
