Imagine standing under the stars, face-to-face with your perfect match. They hold your hands and pull you a little closer. You watch as they look from your lips to your eyes and back again — it’s clear they want to kiss you. You’ve had a crush on them for a while and now here they are, a breath away, ready to be yours.

It’s wonderful to imagine the people we love loving us back. It’s even better when it happens in real life. In our search for love we often find someone we are convinced is right for us. When they don’t seem to feel the same it’s hard to let go. They’re the one — we’re sure of it!

It’s okay, we tell ourselves: people change their minds; situations change; love isn’t always instant.

If we’ve found the perfect person for us, isn’t it worth waiting for them? My fiance had a crush on me for a few years. It worked out for him. How do we know when to wait and when to move on?
