I feel like I’m in a constant battle to reduce the sugar consumption in our home! My grandparents lived on a farm and mostly ate the food they grew. We moved 5 years ago from a farming community where fruit and veggies were abundant (even fruit growing roadside you could pick for free!) to a small town where fresh produce is expensive and less available. I’ve definitely noticed a difference in our diet because of it! I agree that as parents we are responsible for what our kids eat. Thinking about my grandparents though, how they were surrounded by healthy, easily available fresh produce and how my grandma’s main job was to cook for her family, are our busy lives and our environments also playing a part?
