I love parenting teenagers. It's my favourite age. My 18 year old daughter is about to go on an overseas trip for a month which has been her dream for several years. She started talking about it at 15 and we looked at various options together. Then she got an after school job and saved for 2 years to pay for the entire thing herself. I think the enjoyment teens get out of planning and reaching their own goals is a huge confidence builder for them. It makes them feel competent and adult. That's a better gift than any other you can give them.
