I love reading Medium writers because there are so many different and fresh voices. You just have to look for them. To not fall into copying you just need to read more widely. I read on Medium, fiction and nonfiction books, literary journals, various big publications (like The New Yorker etc.) and more. Reading widely is part of our job as writers. We don't need to be afraid of becoming copycats.
