In New Zealand we have family tax credits and other payments (like a winter payment) to help families. Not sure if a payment to encourage people to have more kids would be a good idea though? When people talk about the planet needing less people I always get a little concerned. It's often the people who care most about the planet that aren't having kids but we need more people raised to care to help heal the planet. We need people motivated to problem solve and come up with new solutions and ideas. Also, population studies are showing we'll peak at the 10 billion point at this stage and then drop. Interesting topic.
