I've entered a lot of writing contests over my career. Sometimes I've even won, but I don't enter for that reason. Contests push us to improve our writing, try something new, and do our best work. I've always noticed a "levelling up" in my writing after a contest. With that in mind, I'm excited to enter the Medium contests. I'm not expecting to win, but I am expecting my writing to improve and that's always beneficial. Vocal contests do look fun. I'm just not keen to pay yet another subscription.
