This is a beautiful piece and an incredible photograph--stunning. Your writing is so vivid, I felt like I was there in that carpark with you. I totally get the freedom of a physical job where your imagination can wander. I had that same experience working at a tomato orchard and various other factory jobs. My most creative time is often doing something mundane, like washing dishes. I can't wait to read more of your essays!
